Mateo's Game Lab: A Used Game Store Buyers Can Trust

The Challenge
Buying used games online comes with doubt. Does it work? Is the case included? Is that photo even the real item? For a small local shop, that doubt is the difference between a sale and a closed tab.
The inventory also spans generations, from N64 and Game Boy to Switch and PlayStation 5, so shoppers needed a quick way to get to their system without scrolling through everything else.
Our Approach
We designed the store around trust and speed. Every product answers the buyer's questions before they have to ask, and every page gets them to their platform in one or two clicks.
The Build
- Honest grading: each item lists its condition and what's included, so there are no surprises.
- Real photos: buyers see the actual item they'll take home, not stock images.
- Shop by platform: Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox, plus games, consoles, accessories and bundles, with filters to narrow down fast.
- Product pages that read like a game store: a clean tabbed layout that keeps details organized without overwhelming the page.
- A homepage that sells: eight focused sections that walk visitors from what's new to how pickup works.
- Local pickup made clear: order online, then meet at a public spot in Hartford, Windsor Locks or Bloomfield, with details confirmed after ordering.
The Result
Mateo's Game Lab now has a store that does the reassuring for them: graded, photographed, easy to browse, and simple to pick up. The shop keeps growing as new inventory comes in.
